Quick Thoughts…

Kobe’s sore, L.A. could therefore be an eyesore too…

Opening up their 2006 0 2007 campaign against last year’s playoff rival Suns, I am sure Kobe was looking forward to get back at them. Get back at Raja Bell too maybe.

The thing with the rehab of his knee injury is it requires a lot of rest and quite unpredictable too. One minute, Kobe was ready thinking of playing the season opener, next thing is, he will sit it out.

Kobe had an arthroscopic surgery in mid-July, missed the chance of playing for the US team, missed the Lakers’ eight exhibition games. Expect a slow start in LA season. Improving big man Brown is also also out for a while.

One thing good coming out of this situation is, other players will be tested early. New recruits Maurice Evans, rookie Farmar, Radmanovic will be having a chance to play and mix it up with Phils’ old crew. Bynum will also see lots of action in Brown’s and Mihm’s absence.

Chicago Bulls, Are You Serious?

Did you see how the Chicago Bulls gave the reigning champion Miami Heat a thorough beating? They surely look they can compete against anyone in the league. Then again, coach Scott Skiles is right. “This one game is not indicative”, says the coach…

Is Ben Wallace a perfect fit to the Bulls or what? His presence gives the young Bulls players that x-factor. For a player, knowing that you got a Ben Wallace that will clean it up on offense and that he will anchor and help you out on defense, you got to feel confident. And confident the Bulls were in scoring a 108-66 demolition of the defending champs…

I say, if there is one player who could match up D-Wade both offensively and defensively in the NBA, it should be Kirk Hinrich. One of the best young guards around OR simply, one of the best guards around town. Let’s drop the “young”. He matched Wade’s number across the board. Check out the boxscores, you know where to get it. He played a superb game on the day he inked a 5-year extension deal worth $47.5 millions or roughly equal to P2.5 billion pesos. Absurd isn’t? More than 2 billion pesos just for playing ball. Mercy! How about even 2 pesos for writing ball?…

NBA referees’ quick Technical trigger is annoying. In one sequence, Argentinian Andres Nocioni scored a basket and felt he was fouled. He looked at the referee and lifted his arms. No words. Just lifted his damn hands. The referee blew the whistle. Tech foul right there and then. Next thing we know, players can’t say “Hi Mom!” anymore. For this one, I call, TECHICAL FOUL on Stern!…

Give some slack to Miami, they just wore their 2006 rings minutes earlier. They might felt they don’t need the 07 ring and so they were blasted by the Chicago Bulls…

After loosing this one 42 points, maybe Shaq can again go about his usual shots at Stern for switching to a new type of ball for this season. Today, officially, (after shooting 39 of 79) Bulls says the ball switch is the best NBA change has done since they banned using the John Stockton short shorts…

The players complaints about the ball might be valid. The ball somehow looks like “rubbery”
