This just got to me while watching the Welcoat – Sta. Lucia game. The Sta. Lucia won by the way. No surprises there.

Anyways, with 11 seconds to go, Welcoat’s ball. Sta. Lucia up by 7 points, Chua let’s go of his ponytail.

Living up his tradition/ritual of letting it go after winning a game or even close to winning one. Is he doing the right thing? Making a mark for himself and at the same time giving me something to blog about. Or, is he disrespecting his opponents? Coaches and players alike. Can’t he wait for the final buzzer to sound?

In this case, fellow coach, Leo Ausria. Here’s Leo Austria, still mapping out plays, working hard to comeback (or at least make a decent final score) then Chua let’s go of his hair.

Should people say, Ang Lambooooot! Or should we say, Ang Laboooooo!

Unless Reggie Miller was playing for Welcoat, Al Francis Chua was sure to win that game just as you described. Two three pointers and a free throw are needed and unless Sta. Lucia is made up of retarded players, they know how not to lose a 7-point lead in 11 seconds. Coach Chua can do all he wants. (I’m not a Sta. Lucia fan by the way.)

yeah i kinda agree with the comment. chua mastered welcoat throughout that game and he can get arrogant for all we care. it would be pretty rude if he did this before the game or after halftime but if welcoat or any team for that matter, starts to get angry for his actions then they should do something like getting 7 points in 11 seconds. clearly he exuded dominance rather than arrogance.

One more vote for Chua and I’ll rest my case and enjoy his hair as well.

Then, I hope sometime soon, after he thinks he has the win and lets its go, some miraculous comeback can be mounted, so he can get some flak.

He is basically rejoicing. Let him be. He’s been tasting losses after losses past seasons. Give him a break. Let him do his “Rejoice Ang Lambot” Routine.
