Breaking news… LeBron James finally won his first championship ring.
Another news is that, in game 5 of the NBA finals between the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder, 9 out of 10 trending topics on twitter were NBA related.
In the final minutes and after the buzzer sounded, here are the Twitter trending topics in the Philippines.
- Mike Miller
- Leggo Heat
- #OkcTillTheBitterEnd
- #10thingsilove
- Game 5
- Juwan Howard
- 2012 NBA Champions
- #respect
- Erik Spoelstra
- Chris Bosh
Only #10thingsilove is the non-NBA topic. Now I have been on twitter for 2 years and I have not seen 90% of trending topics pointing to a single event or news. Not even the #jcontrial or a Manny Pacquiao fight hugged 9/10 twitter trending. Interesting is that, of the Big 3, ’twas Dwayne Wade who wasn’t trending, Chris Bosh was. Juwan Howard trended because he entered the game late and not because I tweeted this…
juwan howard is paid 50 million pesos for picking up lebron during cramps, and breaking up fights. i can do that! or at least i can try.

By the way, Erik Spoelstra didn’t send Juwan Howard to game because few minutes earlier, I tweeted below. He sent him to sub Miami Heat starts and give much deserved applause and ovation to them.
#playjuwan #playjuwan #playjuwan #playjuwan

And so it is confirmed… Philippines is basketball country.
By the way, here’s my Mike Miller tweet…
jordan has flu game, lebron has cramp game, miller has limp games.
